Halloween: The Game Chapter 2 Challenges: Six Done in Two Runs
All six Main Street challenges in two runs: the execution conditions first, the no-alert clear second, with the exact spot for each target.

The one-minute version
Chapter 2 on Main Street has six challenges. Five want a specific execution. The sixth wants nobody to notice you at all.
Those two goals fight each other. Don’t try to do them in one pass.
Run one, in this order: Eric (shelf), Tanya (cash register), Rachel (environmental kill), Slab (while he urinates), then Rachel’s two friends. Finish the chapter before you quit — don’t restart mid-chapter.
Run two does one thing: make every kill register as a Surprise. Grab from behind every time and skip every context and environmental execution.
Where each target is
- Kill Tanya with the cash register. She’s in the A-Side Music Store on the west side of Main Street, and the register is toward the back of the shop floor. You need Bloodthirst tier 3 to unlock the register execution, so grab her near the register rather than dragging her across the room.
- Kill Rachel with an environmental execution. Rachel is around the cemetery in the south. Grab her near a headstone, a large rock or a tree and wait for the skull icon, then use it. Any environmental kill counts.
- Kill Slab while he urinates. Slab is one of Rachel’s friends and stays near the cemetery, where he walks to a tree to urinate. The window is short and missing it means another attempt, so wait until he settles.
- Execute Eric on the shelf in the hardware store stockroom. Eric is in the workshop once the game teaches you Killer Sense. Get Bloodthirst to tier 3, drag him to the left-hand row of blue shelving, and the Temple Stab prompt appears.
- Kill all three of Rachel’s friends. Besides Slab, two more leave for the house north of the cemetery. Deal with them inside, then come back for Slab.
- Clear the chapter without alerting anyone. Every kill has to register as a Surprise, meaning you grab from behind before they see you.
You can pick up two recordings on the same route. Loomis Log #9 is in the music store stockroom, and Loomis Log #3 sits on the living-room fireplace in the house north of the cemetery. Both overlap with challenge 5, so one trip covers them.

Why two runs is genuinely faster
Context executions require dragging the target to a specific object. That almost always walks you through somebody’s line of sight, and challenge 6 voids the moment you’re seen.
Knock out the five conditioned kills first. On the second run you can ignore execution types entirely and use the fastest, quietest grab you have. The success rate jumps.
One more trap: finish the chapter after the challenges, don’t restart mid-chapter. Players report that a direct restart can drop challenges you already completed. Walking a few extra steps is cheaper.
The Chapter 2 Challenge 6 bug is already fixed
Two separate things get mixed together here, so keep them apart.
The check was fixed. Patch 1.0.2 (09-12) corrected an issue where certain executions in Chapter 2 Challenge 6 counted as alerting someone. If your failure reason is “I stealthed the whole thing and it still said I was spotted”, that’s the fixed category. Fully restart the client and run it again — the developers confirmed 1.0.2’s challenge fixes need a restart.
The difficulty was not fixed. In the September 17 post the developers still list Chapter 2 Challenge 6 among the challenges players keep reporting as too hard, and say they are evaluating adjustments with no date attached. In other words, it should be completable now. It’s just demanding.
That distinction is practical. If you fail repeatedly but every failure says you were seen when you weren’t, restart the client and retry. If you failed because you genuinely were seen, that is difficulty. The execution dragged too far, or an NPC caught you in a corridor. Only routing and timing will fix it. The run-two route below exists for exactly that.
One caveat: most community reports predate 1.0.2. When comparing old and new advice, check the date. Tracking complaints posted before September 12 no longer describe the current build.
How to run it the second time
- Use Shape Jump through the door to retrieve the mask, and take out Eric with the simplest rear grab while you’re there.
- Watch the diamond marker above Tanya. As long as it hasn’t turned yellow or red, she hasn’t noticed you and you can keep moving.
- Handle Rachel and Slab together. Kill Rachel first, then grab Slab — he pauses briefly at the tree, and that pause is the safest window.
- Take the last two friends one at a time when they enter the house. Don’t let both see you in the doorway.
- Never use a context or environmental execution. Plenty of players report that using one voids the no-alert run.
What players and reviewers say
The argument around this chapter is almost entirely about challenge 6.
In the comments on SIMPLYAMAZING’s video, several players say a full surprise-only run still didn’t count, and others report Slab never urinating or the third friend never spawning. The creator replies that it’s the one challenge he can’t complete reliably and suggests restarting the checkpoint until it registers. Those reports predate 1.0.2, and the execution check was fixed afterwards.
If a challenge still doesn’t register after you finish, run the three-step self-check in Crashing and stuck? before you restart your save.
Reviewers went after something else. Game Informer called the bugs “not fatal, folded into IllFonic’s usual jank” but said the Civilian tutorial is genuinely poor. Kotaku listed NPCs on rooftops and enemies you can’t hit against a wall among the things that need fixing. Chapter 2’s frustration is a symptom of a rough launch build, not a one-off.
