Halloween: The Game Trophy Guide: A Three-Stage Platinum Route
A PlayStation trophy route in three stages, plus the trophies the developers already fixed and the three still under investigation.
The one-minute version
The steadiest platinum route isn’t “start with the easy ones”. It’s learn first, clean up second.
Stage one is finishing the single-player story. Stage two is getting comfortable with how both Michael and Civilian actually win. Stage three is everything cumulative: kills, wins and character levels.
There’s a reason for that order. The story lets you learn Michael’s stalking, executions and chapter objectives under low pressure. Multiplayer throws residents, phones, police and escapes at you at the same time. Once both loops feel natural, cumulative targets usually stack up during normal play.
Check what can’t be earned right now
On 2026-09-17 the developers named three achievements and trophies that can fail to unlock and are still under investigation:
- Purely and Simply Evil
- Pumpkin Smasher
- Heavy Handed
Being stuck on those is a known issue. Repeating the condition won’t help.
The other way round, Patch 1.0.2 (09-12) fixed the tracking on five: Purist, Close Quarters, No Friend Left Behind, Natural Observer and Stalker. If you’re stuck on those, fully restart the client and check again — the developers confirmed the progression fixes need a restart.
The three-stage order
- Story stage. Finish the story once and log which chapter challenges registered. The developers admit Chapter 2 Challenge 6, Chapter 4 Challenges 5 and 6, and Chapter 5 Challenge 6 are still difficult, so don’t burn hours there. Clear the chapter and move on.
- Multiplayer stage. Play matches to completion and learn both sides’ win conditions before you start counting wins. Quitting mid-match costs XP.
- Character stage. Track Profile, Killer, Civilian and Weapon progress separately. Civilian XP is per character and Weapon XP is per weapon, so mixing them hides what’s missing.
- Cumulative stage. Put every cumulative condition here. You know the maps and characters by now, so one match can push several at once.
- Cleanup stage. Mop up the stragglers. When something is stuck, run the three checks: fully restart the client, check the official known-issues list, confirm the current version’s condition.
Three traps worth naming
Mixing platforms. PlayStation trophies, Xbox achievements and Steam Achievements are three lists with different names. Confirm which platform a community list refers to before you trust it.
Treating Prestige as a trophy prerequisite. Prestige is the post-max progression system. It was disabled for a stretch before 1.0.2 and is now re-enabled. It’s a separate track from trophies, and neither gates the other.
Replaying a stuck challenge. Chapter challenges only register when the condition is met. Running the same segment again with the same conditions is wasted time. Confirm the condition and the version first.
Limits
The developers haven’t published the trophy count, hidden conditions, rarities or whether anything is missable. This page covers the verified progression structure and the officially named tracking issues instead of inventing a full trophy table.
