The one-minute version

Crashes send people down the wrong path. You reinstall, verify files, swap drivers, and only then find out the developers already wrote “under investigation”.

Flip the order: check whether your symptom is on the official known-issues list before you touch your setup.

There’s one more thing that’s easy to miss. The 1.0.2 challenge fixes only take effect after a full client restart. The developers said so in the patch notes. If challenges aren’t tracking, restart once before you conclude anything.

Crashes the developers confirmed are still open

Three of them are named directly, and none are caused by your hardware.

  • Crashing when Loomis reinforcements enter. The developers are also investigating the performance drop when Loomis spawns, with reports across platforms.
  • Crashing at the end of single-player chapters. They say this is most common on the Prologue and Chapter 3 results screens.
  • Crashing on Xbox Series X|S. Crash reports are elevated on that platform and improvements are ongoing.

Xbox Series S is a separate line: 1.0.2 already addressed one round of performance and memory crashes, and the developers say more work is coming with no timeline.

For all three, the only useful action is waiting for a patch. The one thing worth doing is writing down your reproduction steps.

Interaction and pickup bugs

1.0.2 fixed several high-frequency problems. If you still hit something similar, confirm you have fully restarted the game since September 12.

Already fixed:

  • Items you couldn’t pick up because of collision issues.
  • Interaction prompts disappearing after an NPC moved you out of position during a conversation.
  • Interaction prompts disappearing after a Civilian was affected by collision while grabbed.
  • Interaction prompts disappearing when the Fragile Hourglass was used on a downed Michael.
  • Interaction prompts for certain escapes disappearing after repairing the escape car.

Still under investigation:

  • Shape Jump getting stuck on cooldown.
  • Civilians losing movement after a Grab in certain interactions.
  • Still being executed after breaking free in public matches.
  • Residents spawning on rooftops.

Achievements and trophies that don’t unlock

1.0.2 fixed the tracking on five: Purist, Close Quarters, No Friend Left Behind, Natural Observer and Stalker. If you’re stuck on those, restart the client and check again.

Three are still under investigation: Purely and Simply Evil, Pumpkin Smasher and Heavy Handed.

Being stuck on those three is a known issue. Repeating the condition won’t get you there faster — waiting for a patch will. For the wider progression picture see Achievements guide.

Four things to do before you report

  1. Fully quit and restart the game, then reproduce it once.
  2. Note the map, chapter or exact action involved.
  3. Check the list above. If it’s there, you don’t need to report it again.
  4. If it isn’t listed and reproduces reliably, send it in.

The developers ask for crash and performance reports by email, and they ask for four things by name: username, platform, device specifications, and match details or actions leading up to the issue. Missing any one makes it much harder to locate.

Limits

The developers haven’t published crash triggers, a fix timeline or a fixed-versus-remaining ratio. This page also won’t hand out local troubleshooting code or launch parameters with no official basis.

The order above comes from what the official post asks for, not from our guesswork.
