Halloween: The Game Walkthrough: The Six-Chapter Story Route
How the Prologue and five chapters progress, what to focus on in each, and the two things that can stall you in the current build.

The one-minute version
The single-player route has six parts. On your first pass, follow the HUD objective only and get the route clear. Challenges and collectibles belong to a second pass.
Chapters can be replayed. Once you understand the maps and abilities, come back to the chapter that’s short on something. That’s far cheaper than chasing 100% in every chapter on the way through.
What the six parts look like
| Chapter | Name | What it’s doing |
|---|---|---|
| Prologue | Escape From Smith’s Grove | Learn stalking, learn to approach using the environment, then get out |
| Chapter 1 | The Road to Haddonfield | Work your way into town and handle optional objectives on the way |
| Chapter 2 | Main Street | Enter the main street and push through to the cemetery sequences |
| Chapter 3 | Returning Home | Clear the required Myers house sequence, then optional neighbourhood objectives |
| Chapter 4 | The Babysitters | Anchored to the Wallace House event chain |
| Chapter 5 | Into the Shadows | Handle police pressure, then pick an exit |
How to push each chapter
- Prologue. When the game tells you to run, don’t rush off. There’s a recording in the courtyard and another in the small shelter. Practise approaching from shadow.
- Chapter 1. Chase the main objective first. Detour for optional objectives like “explore the area” when they appear. There’s a recording in the dive bar and one in the garage.
- Chapter 2. More buildings, and the mini-map appears from here. Follow the HUD and sweep rooms as you go. Leave the challenges for a second pass.
- Chapter 3. Finish the required Myers house sequence first. Neighbourhood objectives afterwards are optional and can wait.
- Chapter 4. Stay on the Wallace House event chain. If the scripted objective hasn’t updated, don’t wander — wait for the HUD.
- Chapter 5. Beat Dr. Loomis first, then choose an exit. The exit decides your ending, so replay this chapter to see another one.
What to do when you’re lost
Check whether the current required objective has updated. If it has, you’re meant to move. If it hasn’t, something is unfinished — usually a room you haven’t entered or an objective item you haven’t picked up.
Don’t wander across the map on instinct. This game is heavily script-driven, and running further won’t help while the objective is static.
Two traps in the current build
Chapter-end crashes. The Prologue and Chapter 3 results screens are among the crashes the developers confirmed are still under investigation. Let the results screen finish instead of hammering skip.
Challenge checks. The September 17 post says Chapter 4 Challenge 5 and Chapter 4 Challenge 6 are still difficult. Patch 1.0.2 did fix a check in Chapter 4 Challenge 2 where Lynda immediately left the bedroom after Bob was killed. So treat Chapter 4 as a route to clear first, challenges second.
Limits and sources
The developers haven’t published the full level flow, enemy layouts or script triggers. This page gives the main-line order rather than details nobody has verified.
