Halloween: The Game Achievements Guide: What to Clean Up First
The achievements that still fail to unlock, the five Patch 1.0.2 fixed, and a cleanup order built around story, multiplayer and cumulative goals.
The one-minute version
The expensive part of achievements isn’t difficulty. It’s grinding something that never unlocks.
On 2026-09-17 the developers named three achievements still under investigation. They’re a known issue, not a mistake on your part:
- Purely and Simply Evil
- Pumpkin Smasher
- Heavy Handed
Repeating the same condition won’t get you there faster. Waiting for a patch will.
The other way round, Patch 1.0.2 (09-12) already fixed five: Purist, Close Quarters, No Friend Left Behind, Natural Observer and Stalker. If you’re stuck on those, fully restart the client and check again. The 1.0.2 fixes only apply after a restart, and the developers said so explicitly.
Keep platforms separate
The Steam store confirms Steam Achievements. PlayStation trophies are a different list, and Xbox is another one again.
Don’t treat a single community list as the final answer for every platform. Names and conditions can differ, and the developers haven’t published a total count.
By the usual Xbox and Steam shape, achievements fall into four groups: story chapters and chapter challenges, multiplayer completions or wins, character and perk progression, and cumulative actions such as kill counts or specific execution types.
Build your route around those systems rather than writing uncertain numbers into a guide now.
A cleanup order that works
- Finish the single-player story once, and note which chapter challenges actually registered. Chapter challenges are a main source of achievements, and the developers admit Chapter 2 Challenge 6, Chapter 4 Challenges 5 and 6, and Chapter 5 Challenge 6 are still rough.
- Rotate between Michael and Civilian and play matches to the end. Don’t quit mid-match for a cumulative target. Spectator XP was broken before 1.0.2, and that’s fixed now, but finishing a match is still the steadiest way to stack counts.
- Track the four progressions separately. Profile, Killer, Civilian and Weapon each earn their own XP. Mixing them means you can’t tell which one is short.
- Save cumulative goals for last. By then you know the maps and characters, and a single match can push several conditions at once.
- When something doesn’t unlock, run three checks: fully restart the client, confirm the achievement is on the known-issues list, and confirm you meet the current version’s condition.
How this relates to Prestige and challenges
Achievements, challenges and Prestige are three parallel systems, and they blur together easily.
Challenges are extra conditions inside story chapters. Prestige is the long tail after you max out a track. Achievements are platform-level targets that span modes.
They feed each other, but none of them is a prerequisite for another. Prestige was disabled for a while before 1.0.2 and has been re-enabled — see Prestige rewards.
Limits
The developers haven’t published the total achievement count, hidden conditions or per-platform differences. This page sticks to the verified structure and the officially named tracking issues rather than inventing a full list.
