Halloween: The Game All Endings: 3 Escape Routes Explained
All three endings live in Chapter 5 Into the Shadows: sewer, cornfield and railroad. Replay that chapter to unlock each one, no earlier chapters needed.

The one-minute version
The single-player story has 3 endings, and all of them are crammed into Chapter 5, Into the Shadows. Reach the right spot on the map and the HUD flags a nearby way out — sewer, railroad, or cornfield — depending on where you’re standing and what the map state looks like. Where you leave is what decides the ending you get.
Story-wise the three endings land in the same place: Michael disappears into the night. What changes is the cutscene and narration. So don’t treat them as three separate storylines; treat them as three ways to run the same chapter.
The good news: you don’t need to replay the Prologue or any earlier chapter. The branch point lives entirely inside Chapter 5, so replaying that chapter is the fast route.
How to take each route
Sewer ending. Head deep into the northern half of the map and the prompt appears. The path curls west, then turns north again, and runs past a group of officers you don’t want to fight. It dead-ends at a fenced-off area with a couple more officers; slip past them and you’ll find the sewer entrance. Removing the drain grate usually pulls two more officers, so keep some weapon and stamina in reserve.
Cornfield ending. Go through the fence and keep heading east. There are officers at the crossings — Shape Jump past them or take them out. At the field you’re blocked by a shed and fencing, so clear the guard first; once the gate unlocks, walk through the shed to trigger the ending. This is the easiest route to botch, because it’s easy to drift back toward the sewer or railroad path. Commit east from the start.
Railroad ending. Head north to the only road leaving town at the top of the map. Getting near the tracks starts a countdown — a train is passing. Wait until it has fully cleared the tracks before crossing, or you get hit.
There’s a Dr. Loomis fight before any of this
Before the escape branch opens, Chapter 5 ends with a Dr. Loomis boss fight. Using MKIceAndFire’s full playthrough timestamps as a guide: story mode starts at 00:00, the Dr. Loomis fight lands at 1:54:35, the full ending at 2:06:27, the cornfield ending at 2:10:56, and the sewer ending at 2:12:13. So you finish Loomis first, then pick an escape. That’s a useful way to know how far from the end you are.

Official environment still representing the escape from the Haddonfield neighborhood; it does not depict one specific ending route.
The order I’d unlock them in
- Finish Chapter 5 once, properly. Learn the east, west and north main roads and get a feel for police patrols.
- Second: railroad. The direction is unambiguous, the trigger is due north, and the countdown confirms you’re on track.
- Third: sewer. Longest route, most officers — save it for when the map feels familiar.
- Last: cornfield. Easiest to drift off-course, so treat it as a deliberate target rather than something you stumble into.
- To save time, keep a checkpoint before the Loomis fight instead of re-walking the chapter from the top every attempt.
What players and reviewers say
The top comments under MKIceAndFire’s no-commentary playthrough are all detail-spotting. The most-liked one: “I used to pretend to be Michael Myers while playing the Hitman games. Now I don’t have to pretend.” The second is about the game blurring Michael’s face when he isn’t masked, and the replies dig through the 1978 film to check exactly when his face is shown. Players clearly reward the attention to detail.
Reviews split cleanly on the campaign. TheGamer calls the story mode a solid icebreaker — the Prologue’s mood, rain-slick streets and light reflections all land — and says it’s the friendlier side of the game for anyone who doesn’t want the social mess of asymmetrical multiplayer. Game Informer calls the campaign “a glorified but impassioned tutorial,” two hours long, and states plainly that if you’re buying only for single-player, don’t. Kotaku lands in the same place: great detail, not many missions, functions more like a tutorial. FandomWire’s ending guide makes the same practical point — one playthrough gets you to the credits, and Chapter 5 replays are the cheap way to collect all three endings.
Limits
Some guides mention a fourth “true ending,” supposedly unlocked by killing everyone across every chapter. There’s no official word and no confirmed trigger, so it’s logged here as unverified rather than fact.
