The one-minute version

Five updates have shipped as of 2026-10-08: the early access Hotfix 1, Patch 1.0.2 (September 12), Patch 1.0.3 (September 22), Patch 1.0.4 (September 26) and Patch 1.1.0 (October 6).

Then, on September 17, the developers published a post that matters more than either patch. Its point wasn’t “we updated again” — it was the first public list of what is still broken, plus a rough timeline for fixing it.

Just want to know whether the developers are aware of your bug? Skip to the list below.

The patches that have shipped

DatePatchWhat you’ll notice
09-06Early Access Hotfix 1A large batch of crash fixes. Some challenges now track. Offline play no longer sits in a login queue. The prompt to get up after being downed as Michael returned. Xbox Series S rendering in Performance Mode was fixed
09-12Patch 1.0.2More crash and stability work. Items stuck behind collision and disappearing interaction prompts were fixed. Several challenge checks were corrected. Five achievements now unlock properly. Prestige challenges were re-enabled. Balance was changed too (see below)
09-22Patch 1.0.3A first pass at the September 17 list: balance adjustments plus a batch of bug and crash fixes
09-26Patch 1.0.4High-priority crash fixes and repairs to the Grab/Struggle changes 1.0.3 had introduced; every current player also received 10,000 Perk Points as an apology for those Grab problems
10-06Patch 1.1.0The first Quality of Life update, built around community feedback: a large batch of crash and optimisation work, balance changes and gameplay improvements

The 1.0.2 balance changes deserve their own note, because they change how matches play:

  • Michael’s base damage resistance went up.
  • Damage resistance for Bloodthirst tiers 1 and 2 also went up.
  • The Lethal Pitch perk was weakened at tiers 2 through 5.
  • Fewer grab-escape items such as Pocket Knives and Icepicks spawn across every map.

What the developers confirmed is still broken

Everything below is named directly in the September 17 post, not community guesswork.

Crashes and performance. The game can crash when Loomis reinforcements enter. It can crash at the end of single-player chapters — the developers say this is most common on the Prologue and Chapter 3 results screens. Crash reports are elevated on Xbox Series X|S. Xbox Series S performance and memory crashes were tackled once in 1.0.2 and are still being worked on.

Single-player challenges. All are technically completable now, but four still frustrate players: Chapter 2 Challenge 6, Chapter 4 Challenge 5, Chapter 4 Challenge 6 and Chapter 5 Challenge 6.

Progressive challenges. Four are still being fixed: Thomas - Linebacker, Rachel - Superstitious Tools, Alexis - Craftswoman and Laurie - Quick Thinking. The developers also admitted that weapon progressive challenges fail to state that you must equip the matching weapon.

Achievements and trophies. Three can fail to unlock and are under investigation: Purely and Simply Evil, Pumpkin Smasher and Heavy Handed.

Other bugs. Shape Jump getting stuck on cooldown. Civilians losing movement after a Grab in certain interactions. Still being executed after a successful struggle in public matches. Residents spawning on rooftops.

Halloween 2026 Content Update

The developers confirmed the October content drop on 7 October.

  • A new free map for everyone who owns the game, inspired by the film series’ settings.
  • Paid cosmetic content: new Michael skins and new Civilian characters.
  • Two licensed Michael versions go on sale on 27 October 2026: the Halloween 5 version and the Halloween 2018 version, whose mask design is supervised by Oscar winner Christopher Nelson. The licensing partnership is with Trancas International Films and MIRAMAX.

What’s coming next

The three dates the September 17 post gave have all arrived: the September patches tackled the list above, Patch 1.1.0 was the early-October Quality of Life update, and the Halloween 2026 Content Update is the October celebration.

How to tell whether your problem is fixed

  1. Restart the client first. The 1.0.2 challenge fixes only take effect after a full restart — the developers said so explicitly.
  2. Check the list above. If your issue is there, they already know. Wait for the patch instead of filing a duplicate.
  3. If it isn’t listed and reproduces reliably, it’s worth reporting.
  4. Include all four items they ask for: username, platform, device specifications, and the match details or actions leading up to the issue.

Limits

The developers have not published the full patch notes count, the size of each numeric change or patch file sizes. All three dates are worded as targets rather than commitments. This page won’t claim a fix is “coming next week”.
